This has been my go to pen for the last few years. I started using them when I worked in a freezer shipping department, it was the one pen that I found that would write even in a 0 degree environment. I would never let anyone else use them due to the fact that i would never see them again.
The last 2 packs that I have purchased seem to have small cracks in the ink tube that cause the pens to leak and get clogged any time I try use them to write. I would really hope this is an isolated event and it was just in the batch that I purchased.
All in all, I would recommend these pens to anyone that is looking for pens to use.

I have used Zebra original ballpoint pens for over 20 years now and loved them! Then I found their Zebra purple writing pens and switched to those, because I used to be able to buy them in Walmart, but then they quit carrying them. As a teacher I loved that the pens could last 6 months before running out of ink. Last year I bought 10 Z-Grip Flight Retractable Ballpoint 1.2 mm Violet pens and 2 Green ones. These pens did not last me one month before they ran out of ink. As a teacher that is not a good thing for me. I am curious as to why they are not made the way they used to be 20 years ago? They wrote very smoothly then too, and I have not experienced any leakage in Zebra’s pens all these years. I am going to try a different model this year and hope the ink lasts longer. Refills would be wonderful because I have saved all the pens just incase. I love anything purple and wish you would make the original Zabra ballpoint pen in purple ink.

I love these pens. Aggravated because I can’t find them anywhere. Glad I found this website. But I. Do have a couple of pens that when you click them, the top comes off. But Superglue fixed that problem. These pens write GREAT!!!!

I love these pens and now I can’t find them anywhere. Glad I found this website. For some reason these pens work for me. I have arthritis in my hands and these pens work great for me. And they write so GOOD!!!!!

I bought the pens at a Staples and thought were great. Smooth and effortless writing. I have had no problems with them leaking. I could not find the blue any more and finally found some black that I bought. I really prefer blue ink because it shows it is the original not a copy. This is especially helpful for signatures.
I certainly hope you get better distribution again. The cheaper pens made by BIC and others are usually much lower quality.

Feel is nice in your hand – but ink clumps and it doesn’t start writing on the first stroke. Really like the F-301’s better.

Normally I don’t bother to review products, but OH MY GOSH. I got this pen the other day and I immediately fell in love with how fluid it writes and how it smudges very little. It is basically the perfect middle ground of a ball point pen and gel pen which is absolutely fantastic. It is perfect for school. 10 out of 10, would (and do) recommend!

I bought the Z-Grip Flight a couple of days ago to try as a replacement to the Z-Grip Max, which was my go-to pen to use at work and which I LOVE- however, while the Flight does write nice, the ink is constantly clumping and leaking out, making my signature on important documents smudgy. Very disappointed in this pen. I’m definitely going back to the Z-Grip Max, if I can find it at my local Office Max.

I LOVE these pens, the best pen I found so far. I am a huge pen person, I stroll aisles to try new pens. I write with a lot of pressure, so when I found these pens I didn’t need to press hard to get a bold style. Not to mention the ink smells good haha. Although I am having a hard time finding this pen. I use to find them at Wal-Mart and Staples with no problem, but now they don’t sell them. Any reason why, and where can I purchase a 5-pack without buying bulk?

I adore these pens and how smooth they write. The ink is bold, and it writes from the moment it touches the page. The glide is so smooth and makes it a joy to use, and it feels great in my hand. The reason for the 3 stars rather than 5? The ink smears easily and leaks or clumps between uses (both the stick and retractable). I had my office order some for me to use at work (since I’m a pen snob), but ended up with destroyed documents and ink in rather random places from all the extra ink clumps that just seemed to appear from nowhere (elbows, wrists, fingers…ink everywhere!!!)

Smoothest ink ever — my go to pen BUT it really does gob and leak FROM TIP at times making it a risk in shirt pocket— so when I carry it I use the capped stick version.

Worst experience with Leaky pens and no it’s not because of room temperature. I normally don’t put comment on small issues but these pens destroyed my papers, my desk, and my shirts. Complete waste of money.

LOVE these pens!!! The smooth flowing ball points are getting harder and harder to come by in the blue ink. Lately all I can find in stores are the low-quality ink pens that don’t write clean and consistently unless I buy a gel ink pen (which I despise)…looking forward to the refills availability—HOPEFULLY SOON!!! I love these pens. I have bought all the colors and several on the black. I always come back to buy more each year by bundles. It is smooth. I do agree that sometimes they do clump up once in a while. But I just love the way they write. The only down side is that sometimes I write too much and my finger gets dents form the grip. But either way I still love them.

This Z-Grip Flight is incredible! It really makes me write at a flying speed. I love handwriting again with this pen. The parts it uses are also quite solid. I really appreciate your efforts to create this product. But just as Rick said, it is really a pity that no refills are available for it. If you make refills, it would be a perfect product for handwriting and for the environment as well.

I bought these pen for work because we work in 35 degree temps and it was hard to find a ball point pen that will hold up to the cold. The entire plant LOVES these pens. The reason for the low rating is because to often I have employee complaining about the pen leaking from the tip. Again we LOVE these pens and they are the only ball point pens that we have found to work in the cold. But every batch we receive has pens that leak. They leak to the point the pen will mess your clothes up. Are we receiving faulty batches or is this a common issue?

Sorry you’re experiencing problems with leaky pens! Sound like this is due to the changes in temperature, which affects the pressure in the ink cartridge and causes leaks when you move from a cold room (35 degrees) to room temperature spaces.

Great feel and writing experience. Yes, the ink does clump. Standard pen refills will fit nicely, but for the price, just get another writing instrument.

Awesome pen! It writes smoothly as soon as the ball point touches the paper. It doesn’t need to be “primed” by scribbling like other pens. The only downside is that these pens aren’t refillable (according to this Zebra web site).

This is my all time favorite Zebra pen!! They are super smooth, the ink is nice and dark and the overall feel of the pen is superb. Every time I see a pack of these in a store I buy all of them. I have a large Really Useful Box that is completely full of these pens. I even enjoy the stick version!!!
