Zebra Pen Corporation Teams Up With the Kids In Need Foundation To Award One Lucky School a Year’s Supply of Writing Instruments

Edison, NJ (September 11, 2014) – Zebra Pen Corp., a global leader in the writing instrument industry and marketer of category leading products such as the F-301 Steel Barreled Ballpoint Pen, Z-Grip and the Sarasa Gel Pen with new Rapid Dry Ink Technology, is partnering with the Kids In Need Foundation this fall. Zebra Pen Corporation will donate 30 writing instruments to the Kids In Need Foundation for every “like” generated on both organizations’ Facebook pages. Together, they will award a winning school with a year’s supply of writing tools for their students.

In the U.S. more than 16 million children live below the poverty line and the majority of teachers spend anywhere from $500 to $1,000 per year on supplies for their students and classrooms. Through donations and programs, the Kids In Need Foundation works to reduce these numbers. The foundation has provided more than $550 million in school supplies to low-income schools and $1.5 million in grants to teachers.

“We are excited to announce this year’s partnership with The Kids In Need Foundation as schools all over the country are kicking off a new year,” said Ken Newman, Director of Marketing at Zebra Pen Corporation. “Zebra Pen has been affiliated with The Kids In Need Foundation since its inception in 1995, and as a writing instrument manufacturer we understand the importance of providing students with the necessary tools to make their school year a success. Through this promotion, we are able to assist in The Kids In Need Foundation’s mission of providing children and educators with the pens and pencils necessary to help classrooms learn, grow and succeed.”

In order to enter the contest for their school of choice, participants must complete the entry form and “like” the Zebra Pen and Kids In Need Foundation Facebook. The contest is now running and the winning school will be selected when the Zebra Pen counter reaches 40,000 fans.
